We are supporting

The Turning Point Trust

as part of our project.
10% of all locally raised funds will be used towards this,
so that as we refurbish our premises,
we also help to build homes for African women in the farming project in Kenya.

Michael and Jean Simmonds keep us updated on Turning Point - click the "News & Notices" link above.

  S*T*A*R project Prayers -
These are linked to significant stars in the Bible.

Sunday: The Day Star (2 Peter 1 v 19) is a sign of the coming of Christ or the Holy Spirit.
Pray that, in all we do, we may seek the leading of Christ in the fulfilment of the project.
Remember Jesus said, “Without me, you can do nothing”. (John 15, v.5)

Pray for all who live in fear, poverty and oppression; that the Day Star may shine for them.

Monday
. The Morning Star (Rev 2 v 28) is a title for Christ, the Light of the world”. (John 9, v.5)
Pray that others may see and be drawn to the light of Jesus through what we do at St Andrew’s.

Pray for any known to you whose lives are darkened by depression or bereavement; that they may meet Jesus.

Tuesday. The Bible talks of the infinite number of stars and their beauty. (Psalm 8 v3)
Pray that people may see and find our creator God through the beauty of nature and through the life and witness of his people here.

Pray for all who work to protect and conserve the environment God has made.

Wednesday. A star led wise men to Jesus in a stable. (Matt 2 v 2)
Pray that in the ordinariness of our lives, Jesus may be found because of our love, integrity and witness.

Pray for the countries of the Middle East who so need a star that leads them to Jesus.

Thursday. When they saw Jesus, the wise men were overjoyed and worshipped, then opened their treasures and presented him with gifts. (Matt 2 vs 10 —12)
Pray that all of us here will respond in the same way in helping to meet the costs of the STAR project.

Pray for those who face economic difficulties and those who are not content with sufficiency.

Friday. “When I consider your heavens  the stars what is man  ? (Psalm 8, v.3)
Praise and thank God that He does indeed know and care about each one of us and that He is concerned with all that we do at St Andrew’s.
Pray that He may be glorified in what we are trying to do and it may not be just for our own pleasure.

Pray for someone close to you who doesn’t yet know the love of God for themselves.

Saturday. “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever”. (Daniel 12, v.3)
Pray that we may be wise and humble, seeking to make St Andrew’s a place where many may find the love of Christ and his salvation through who we are and what we do.

Pray for Christians who work with children in any capacity, that their faith may be inspirational.

Every Day.
Pray for Chris, our minister,
and for everyone involved in different aspects of the StAR project.
Ask God for guidance on the ways in which you can play a part,
by prayer,
by financial giving,
and by helping in other ways.
